The goal of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) is to give impoverished and homeless families in rural areas pucca dwellings. In 2016, the program was introduced under the new name Indira Awas Yojana. By 2024, the program hopes to deliver pucca dwellings to all rural Indians.
In order for the poor to develop a secure and long-lasting home for themselves, the government offers them financial aid for housing construction.
